Dedza Dynamos Head Coach Alex Ngwira has cautioned his players against complacency as they prepare to face struggling Songwe Border Football Club this afternoon at Dedza Stadium.
Both teams are desperate for points, though Songwe anchors the table while Dedza seeks elusive consistency. Dedza is yet to secure back-to-back wins this season, a trend that led to the recent replacement of Andrew Bunya with former Mighty Wanderers coach Ngwira.

Ngwira’s tenure began with a narrow 1-0 victory over Civil Service United, followed by a 2-2 draw against Kamuzu Barracks. Currently, Dedza sits 11th in the league with 10 points from eight games.
In stark contrast, Songwe is still searching for their first win in the elite league, having lost seven games and drawn once so far. They enter this match on the back of three consecutive defeats.
Despite Songwe’s poor form, Ngwira emphasized the need for caution. “They are playing in the Super League because they qualified, so, regardless of their form, we don’t need to underrate them,” Ngwira stated. “I have already talked to the boys about not taking them as minors; they might hurt us.”
He continued, “We need to be focused, and I can see the highlights in training. It is football; they are training, and we are training. They are trying to work on their mistakes so when the chance comes, they should utilize. We have to have a plan B.”
