“This is one of the games that we are going to be having this season, we played very well and created a lot of chances but if you are not scoring then you can not win so I thank the boys for trying to win something in the game.” Said Mwase.

Meanwhile, Bangwe All Stars assistant coach, Joseph Semu, said his boys were told just not to let the Nomads get a goal in the match as a starter pack of their renaissance.

“It was a tough game as we knew that we were playing a big team so we told the boys to just sit back and defend which worked and we are very happy with this result.” Said Semu.

It was not an interesting match in the first 20 minutes as the Nomads kept the ball but their long crosses were cleared away by Bangwe’s defense with Christopher Kumwembe, Wisdom Mpinganjira, and Clement Nyondo having their chances missed while Aubrey Maloya sent his effort straight to Richard Chipuwa.

A free kick from Sanudi was cleared by Bangwe and the ball found Felix Zulu who sent the ball into the net the referee awarded a goal before the Assistant referee raised his flag for an offside to deny the Nomads a chance to go ahead on the 25th minute. Ramadan introduced Isaac Kaliati for Christopher KumweinKumweine’sthed minute and the midfielder sent his effort wide in the added time.

In the second half, the hosts sat back as they were happy to clear Nomad’s ball in their box plus numerous saves from the man of the match, Elias Missi, on attempts from Wisdom Mpinganjira and Gaddie Chirwa. Beston Jimu replaced Aubrey Maloya in the 67th minute while Balikinho Mwakanyongo paved the way for Misheck Botomani in the 71st minute as the Nomads continued knocking.

The game was then marred by dissatisfaction after Clement Nyondo was caught offsides many times and the Nomads started to throw plastic and glass bottles but still, Bangwe stayed firm at the back as they picked their second point of the season.

The Nomads missed the chance to go top of the league following the two points drop as they are placed third with 8 points from 4 games ahead of the much anticipated Blantyre Derby next weekend while Bangwe All Stars are up to 15th with 2 points from four games having had two draws and two loses.
