Moyale Barracks and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets failed to unlock each other’s defense in a tight match full of missed chances as the two teams played a 0-0 draw at the Mzuzu Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The hosts thought they had led in the first half after Raphael Phiri found the net but it was ruled out for offside which was followed by these two teams missing glorious chances that could have won them the match.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, said his team failed to do well when attacking and it’s an assignment he needs to do so that they start getting goals.

“A game that we struggled when going forward as we missed chances we get maybe defensively we did well we defended as they were hard as many times they were hitting our Strikers and attackers and we managed to contain them, maybe it’s worrisome of how offensive wise we need to go and work with our offensive part for us to start getting goals.” Said Pasuwa.

Meanwhile, head coach for Moyale Barracks, Prichard Mwansa, said his team missed a lot of chances that could have gotten them a win.

“It was a good game we played well but missed a lot of chances, in fact, I’m not happy because I wanted to win but we missed scoring chances, it’s a thing we need to work on as we are next facing Tigers, we need to improve on that.” Said Mwansa.

The hosts started on a high note after Brown Magaga and Raphael Phiri headed over the bar from the corner kick inside the first three minutes then Patrick Mwaungulu was denied by Simeon Harawa on a free kick while Precious Sambani’s header missed the target in the 12th minute.

Innocent Nyasulu denied Raphael Phiri and Emmanuel Allan as the hosts knocked with Magaga also missing in the 24th minute and Babatunde Adepoju missed the target after combining well with Mwaungulu then Phiri headed in from a free kick but the flag went up in the 38th minute.

Lanjesi Nkhoma replaced Ernest Petro in a halftime change while Luke Chima came in for Emmanuel Allan then Kajoke headed Mwaungulu’s free-kick over the bar in the 58th minute before Prichard Mwansa introducing Peter Ng’ambi for Robert Mphezi.

Harawa produced a brilliant save to deny Mwaungulu who sent a thunderous shot in the 64th minute then Magaga missed a glorious chance 9 minutes later as Babatunde also missed a one-on-one situation in the 82nd minute. Magaga then paved the way for Walusungu Mdoka while Ronald Chitiyo came in for Kajoke and despite late chances from Phiri and Chitiyo, the two sides settled for a stalemate.

The People’s team remain fourth on the table as they have 14 points from their three wins and five draws while Moyale Barracks have 11 points on position 7 after 8 games as well. Up next, Bullets play leaders, Silver Strikers while Moyale Barracks welcome Mighty Waka Waka Tigers.
