Kalisto Pasuwa reveals that the most improved midfielder, Yankho Singo nearly quits football after a lack of minutes in the team but the team managed to handle the situation well and bring him back to the Club.
Singo who graduated from the team’s Reserve side has been the paragon of the team’s players this season, featuring in all big games and producing recommendable performance capped off by another big performance against Kamuzu Barracks in the Airtel Top 8 Cup semi-final last Sunday.
Bullets found themselves in a tricky situation towards the end of last season after their squad was trimmed due to injuries which crippled them with Frank Willard, Mike Mkwate, Alick Lungu among others.

Singo who is a naturally box-to-box midfielder stepped up and slotted into a defensive midfield position to fill the void left by Willard who had to undergo surgery in Zimbabwe before returning to the pitch midway this season. In absence of Willard, Singo has been the pillar of the team in midfield and despite the Club signing Aaron Banega earlier this season, the workhorse midfielder has been producing standout performances
When Pasuwa was pressed by the media on Tuesday in Blantyre ahead of their midweek league fixture against Mighty Waka Waka Tigers, he revealed that the player was about to quit playing football and concentrate on his work
“We had to follow him, talk to him and give him a picture and even his mother said no to playing football again and try to concentrate on work. But we told her about the talent the boy has. Yah, there was that pressure when we needed results, so we had to sit down with him and correct where he was making mistakes and he responded well.”
Pasuwa says Singo is the player who covers the ground and their data analysis reveals that he is the one who covers a lot of distance and he is always on top. Bullets will look to rely on the deep-laying midfielder to save their season as they trail to Silver Strikers on the league log table but they are in the Airtel Top 8 Cup final after beating Kamuzu Barracks. They will face Silver Strikers on Saturday at Bingu National Stadium.
