Pasuwa: No history in Football

Kalisto Pasuwa says Bullets’ pre-eminence in fixture against Tigers will not have impact on their Saturday’s clash

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, has downplayed the fact they have dominated Mighty Waka Waka Tigers for the past 13 years saying history has no effect in Football.

The Zimbabwean tactician was speaking to the team’s media on Friday ahead of Saturday’s match against the Kau Kau boys at the Kamuzu Stadium and he said Tigers is one of the teams that gives them headache when playing them.

“I think in Football we don’t talk history but the amnition that you are having in that particular year, if you prepare yourself to do go you will do good, I think it’s one of the things we have to look at ourselves if we are prepared to face Tigers. This is one of the teams that gives us a tollid time because they prepare on everything in the game,” highlighted Pasuwa.

The People’s team return home for the first time in three months and Pasuwa said the team is continuing to face problems they experienced last season as they lost Maxwell Gasten Phodo due to injury when they played Dedza Dynamos last weekend and he could be out for 6 weeks.

However, despite complaining about missing some other players, the quadruple winner believes the People’s team have players who can do the job for them in absence of others and that his team should not underrate Tigers.

“The season is starting, it’s not that one should win games when you are starting but it’s all about how you prepare yourself, are you ready to start on a high note or the way you were preparing you want things to be what they are?”

“In this situation of course they [Tigers] started slowly, they were away from home and us we played away we had a fair result where we could have won three points but we couldn’t. Like I said, us is Bullets we take each and every game as it comes and these are the games coming, Tigers.” Added Pasuwa.

The Kau Kau boys have lastly beaten the People’s team on 20 August 2011 where they won 0-3 at the Kamuzu Stadium and in 13 years, their best result has been a draw.

Last season, Tigers held Bullets at the Kamuzu Stadium in a 1-1 draw as Ephraim Kondowe cancelled out a Precious Chiudza’s goal and Hassan Kajoke saw his penalty saved by Innocent Nyasulu in the match but in the second round, an 88th minute Yamikani Fodya penalty goal sealed a 1-0 win for the People’s at the same venue.
