Creck Sporting Club will be without three key players when they face Silver Strikers on Tuesday afternoon in a crucial TNM Super League encounter.

Goalkeeper Brighton Munthali will miss the clash against his former club after accumulating two yellow cards in consecutive matches. The ex-Wizards FC and Blue Eagles shot-stopper will be serving a one-match suspension.

Joining him on the sidelines is attacker Jackson Beza, who is also suspended for one match, while Patrick Macheso remains ineligible due to loan agreement clauses as he is still registered with the Bankers.

Head Coach Eliya Kananji acknowledged the challenge of missing three players as his side looks to rebound from their recent defeat to Mighty Wanderers.

“Yes, we will miss Brighton and Jack Beza. They have been in good form for us. Missing them is painful and a blow to the team,” Kananji said during Monday’s pre-match press conference. “But we also have other players who can do the job. It’s an opportunity for them to show they are part of the team. I believe they will deliver.”

In a boost for Creck, striker Patrick Mupanzi returned to training with the squad on Monday. The forward, who scored in Creck’s last league game against Mighty Tigers in Blantyre, missed Sunday’s cup fixture against Wanderers due to injury.

“Yes, Mupanzi trained with the team today, but we missed him against Wanderers. He picked up an injury against Tigers,” Kananji explained. “We are waiting for the medical team to make the final decision on his availability.”

Additionally, Babangida Ishaya has returned to the squad after recovering from injury, marking his first appearance in the second round of the season.

The match kicks off at 14:30 at Silver Stadium, the second meeting between the sides this season. In their first-round encounter at Aubrey Dimba Stadium, Creck suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat.

Silver Strikers enter the fixture in confident form following a 1-0 CAF Champions League victory over Young Africans (Yanga) of Tanzania. The Bankers currently sit fourth on the table with 36 points from 18 matches.

Creck Sporting, heading into their 21st league match, occupy 10th position with 25 points. A victory on Tuesday could see them climb to eighth place as they look to improve their standing in the second half of the campaign.
