The Council said that the designs for the new modern stadium have already been developed, and the Council will soon advertise for bids from companies to construct the stadium. The estimated cost of the stadium is MK30 billion.

Sources from MNCS said the Council opted for the min-stadium because it is manageable saying giant stadiums haven’t been managed to be taken care of.

BAT previously belonged to British America Tobacco Manufacturing Company and was donated to the government of Malawi through the Ministry of Youth and Sports before handed over to MNCS.
