Football Legends Association (FLA) Chairperson Jim Kalua has hailed the appointment of the organization’s second vice-chairperson, Justin Saidi, as Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet.
President Peter Mutharika announced the appointment of several senior government officials, including Saidi, through a press release on Sunday.
The FLA has also congratulated its first vice-chairperson, Noel Lipipa, for his victory as Member of Parliament for Blantyre City-Chilomoni-Kabula Nacholi Constituency during the September 16 General Election.

Kalua said they are delighted with Saidi’s new role. “We are very proud that one of our own has been appointed Chief Secretary, and he deserves it looking at his dedication and hard work. It has not come as a surprise considering his level of professionalism and maturity. He is a man who does not do things in half measures,” Kalua said.
Following the appointment, Kalua said they expect Saidi to reduce his involvement with the FLA. “He will remain part of us, but obviously he will concentrate much of his time on government duties. Let me also congratulate our first vice-chairperson, Hon. Noel Lipipa, on his victory, and we wish him well,” Kalua added.
