It is going to be a Saturday of entertaining football at Bwandiro, Area 47, Lilongwe as two passing-oriented sides, Silver Strikers and Ekhaya FC, face off in a TNM Super League match week 14 encounter at Silver Stadium.
The defending champions, Silver Strikers, will be looking to return to winning ways and dislodge the rookies from third position on the log, while Ekhaya aim to continue their impressive start in their debut season.
In their previous league outings, Silver were held to a 1-1 draw by Moyale Barracks, while Ekhaya cruised past the same opponents with a convincing 3-0 win.

Despite their recent setback in the Airtel Top 8 final, Silver head coach Peter Mgangira says the focus is now on the league.
“My players are looking sharp and hungry. They understand the importance of this game. We can’t be thinking about the Airtel Top 8 anymore. It is gone. We are the defending champions, and we know the importance of getting three points,” said Mgangira.
He also acknowledged the quality of the visitors, noting that Ekhaya’s league position reflects the good job they have done so far.
“Of course, we are playing a very good side that has surprised many. It is amazing for a new team to be in such a position. But we are at home, we have the quality, and we believe we can get the maximum points,” he added.
On the other hand, Ekhaya head coach Enos Chatama said his team is prepared for the challenge but admitted it will not be easy against an experienced side.
“It will be a tricky match. Silver are the defending champions, they are a big team and have been in elite football for long. They have won trophies, while we are just starting out. It will not be easy, especially after they lost the Airtel Top 8,” Chatama said.

He confirmed the absence of Wongani Kaponya, who is out for the remainder of the first round due to injury, but noted that Emmanuel Savieli has rejoined the squad and the available players are ready for the task.
