The launch of the NBM Women’s Premiership has brought Enelecio Mhango back to professional football after a nearly five-year absence from the game.
Mhango, a former Malawi women’s national team player and wife to Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League champions Scottland FC player Khuda Myaba, has joined FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women as she looks to rewrite her legacy in Malawi’s women’s football.
The midfielder is wearing jersey number 53 and is officially registered at the club as Monalisa Mhango.

Wa Mpira understands that Mhango has been with Bullets for three months and has already made four competitive appearances for the team.
She featured in three matches and was an unused substitute in the goalless draw against Ntopwa Kukoma Queens on Saturday, November 15, at Mpira Stadium.
Her most recent outing came in Bullets’ 2-0 away victory over MK Academy at Mzuzu Stadium.

In an interview, Mhango revealed she has signed a one-year contract with Bullets that will see her through the end of the current league season and beyond.
This marks a return to familiar surroundings for Mhango, who previously played for the same Bullets side when it operated as Blantyre Zero before the club consolidated its women’s team into the main brand to meet licensing requirements.
She also turned out for DD Sunshine, now known as Silver Strikers Ladies.

Mhango was a key player in the Malawi Women’s National Football Team under then-coach Abel Mkandawire. She represented the Scorchers at the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Championship and featured in the Olympic Games qualifiers against Kenya the same year.
However, her international career was cut short in 2020 when she was dropped by coach McNebert Kadzuwa amid controversy.
Mhango has wasted no time making her mark in the NBM Women’s Premiership. She opened her account for the season with a 17th-minute strike in a 1-1 draw against Civil Service United Women at Civo Stadium on Sunday, November 2.
Her goal gave Bullets the lead before Vitumbiko Mkandawire equalized in the 58th minute in what was both teams’ final game of the tournament’s first round.
