Despite three injuries to key players, the former Mzuzu City Hammers Head Coach downplayed the impact on the game against his former team.
“The injuries are not too serious, and we have a strong squad to fill in the gaps,” he added.
FOMO FC have had a rocky start to the season, but Chirwa believes that playing at home will give them an edge against Mzuzu City Hammers.
“Playing at home will give us a chance to win this game, despite our poor performance in past games,” Chirwa explained.
FOMO FC are facing high-flying Hammers after four back-to-back appointments and they will be looking to bounce back to winning ways this afternoon while the Iron Boys are bathed in confidence as they are coming from a convincing 2-0 win over Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
The hosts have just won one of their five games including defeats to Civil Service United, Mafco FC, and CRECK Sporting and they drew against Baka City FC at home.
The match, scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, will be a crucial encounter for both teams as they battle for points in the 9th week of the 2024 TNM Super League. Gilbert Chirwa’s team sit just two points above the relegation zone while Hammers will be looking to pip Kamuzu Barracks to the second place.
