The highly anticipated Airtel Top 8 Cup final between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers has been rescheduled, the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) announced. The clash, initially slated for Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Bingu National Stadium, will now take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the same venue.

FAM’s statement confirmed the change, though it did not provide a specific reason for the postponement. “The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) wishes to announce that the Airtel Top 8 final match between Silver Strikers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, initially scheduled for Saturday, 12th July 2025 at Bingu National Stadium (BNS), has been rescheduled to Sunday, 20th July 2025,” the statement read.

The rescheduling comes amidst a busy period for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Their league match against Civil Service United, originally set for Monday, July 7, has also been postponed. This is due to the call-up of eight key Bullets players to Kalisto Pasuwa’s national squad, which is set to face Botswana on Sunday, July 6, at Bingu National Stadium, coinciding with Malawi’s Independence Day celebrations.

According to a fixture released by Sulom on Saturday, the postponed league game between Civil Service United and Big Bullets will now be played on July 12th in Lilongwe.

The Airtel Top 8 Cup final pits the competition’s two most successful clubs against each other. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be chasing their fourth Airtel Top 8 Cup title, having won the tournament three times since its inception in 2017. Silver Strikers, on the other hand, will be aiming for their third title.

On their path to the final, Bullets overcame Creck Sporting Club and Karonga United. Silver Strikers secured their spot by defeating Moyale Barracks and their city rivals, Civil Service United.
