It was a game that both sides were looking for maximum points to improve their position on the log standings fortunate enough for Andrew Bunya’s side who maintained their 10th position but Chitipa United dropped with a single step to 14th from 13th though head coach McNebert Kadzuwa said it was a point gained away from home.

Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos FC, started the game strongly before Chitipa United took control of the game deep in the first half with the exciting Stimella Muyira had a good game with his skills giving tough time to Dedza’s defense though he had a quiet game in the second half before he was taken off at the end of the game.

Both Anthony Singini and Wels Silavwe didn’t have much work to do in the first half between the goalposts as both teams were struggling to do wonders in the final third though Singini rescued his team inside stoppage time of the first half after a mistake by captain Justice Chihoma which could have handed a Chitipa United a goal.

Come the second half, both teams seemed satisfied with the result until some changes were, made, and that changed the intensity of the game.

Chitipa United was the first to make a substitution as Steve Saka was replaced by Ken Mlenga at 56 minutes but four minutes later, Dedza had a triple substitution with Limbani Phiri, Khumbo Banda, and Alex Benson introduced for Ochaya Okoti Otim, Marco Chiwaya, and Hadji Kung’unde.

Ramadan Ntafu missed a golden opportunity for Chitipa United in the 70th minute before Lameck Gamphani started producing some individual brilliance creating several scoring opportunities for his side but the Chitipa United’s goalkeeper was just too good for that.

Limbani Phiri could have given all the points to Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos FC but his shot hit the crossbar before bouncing back to play in the 78th minute and it remained like that until referee Charles Chimimba blew the last whistle.

“Chitipa United come here with a mission and we failed to play our game today,” Bunya said.

He made it clear that the result was disappointing to his team hence urging his players to find their rhythm as soon as possible.

His counterpart McNebert Kadzuwa was happy with the result saying it is not easy to get a point at Dedza Stadium.

“They beat us last season here and getting a point this time around is a fair result for us,” Kadzuwa said.

with each team taking home MK689,350.00
