The player confirmed his departure from the team on Wednesday through a statement on his Facebook page, where he bid farewell to the 1989 Super League champions.

He wrote: “To the team Director, board members, players and entire family of Mighty Tigers, I would like to extend my gratitude to you all for the privileges I had at Mighty Tigers since 2019.

“I would like to thank the coaches and everyone who participated in shaping my football career. To my fellow players, thank you for the love, help and cooperation you rendered to me in achieving my dream.”

Mighty Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika confirmed the departure of the left-footed forward and wished him well in his future endeavours.

“He asked us that he wants to join Civil Service United and the team wrote us a letter. We reached an agreement with them. The player is currently in Lilongwe and has joined them,” said Alufandika.

The veteran sportsman described Chiudza as a pillar of the team, noting that he was deployed in different positions which proved his worth and reliability.

The player was on the brink of joining the Civil servants earlier this season when he thought his contract had expired, but he was informed that he had one year remaining on his deal.

The Lilongwe giants offered him K500,000 per month as his salary. He also received a call from Ekhaya FC, where they wanted to convert him into a left-back, and he had already started training with the Cowboys.

However, Civil Service United reopened their interest in the player. Due to lack of playing time at Tigers, Chiudza asked Alufandika if he could leave and was granted permission. Civil then delayed the process as they initially turned their backs on him before eventually completing the signing.

Chiudza joined the Kaukau Boys in 2019, but his best season came in 2023 under Christopher Nyambose, when he managed to score nine goals and provided five assists for the team.
