Prominent prophet Shepherd Bushiri is on the verge of becoming the official sponsor for TNM Super League side Dedza Dynamos, Wa Mpira can reveal.
The football-passionate prophet is set to replace betting firm Premier Bet as the club’s main sponsor through his Goshen City organization.
Dedza Dynamos survived last season thanks to a MK100 million sponsorship deal with Premier Bet Malawi.

However, the betting company chose not to renew the one-year agreement after its expiry. While Premier Bet informed the club of their decision earlier this year, neither party has publicly disclosed the reasons behind the sponsorship withdrawal.
As Wa Mpira reported several weeks ago, the club has faced severe financial difficulties following Premier Bet’s exit, with officials appealing to the football community for support.
Just days after our initial report on the club’s financial struggles, a prophet—whose identity we withheld pending deal completion—expressed serious interest in providing financial assistance to the struggling club.
Sources close to the negotiations confirmed that both parties held preliminary discussions regarding sponsorship terms, with strong indications that an agreement would be reached.
Wa Mpira can now reveal that an agreement has been reached in principle for Bushiri to sponsor the team through Goshen City, with both parties expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the coming days.
“They held another round of negotiations this week, and the deal is likely to be finalized. This will be a multimillion kwacha package that should resolve the team’s financial problems,” revealed a source familiar with the talks.
The prospective sponsor has reportedly pledged to inject MK500 million annually into the club—a sum that would establish Dedza Dynamos among the wealthiest teams in the Super League.
”Bushiri to be in attendance at Dedza on Sunday”

Prophet Bushiri is expected to attend Dedza Stadium on Sunday when the club faces Kamuzu Barracks in their final match before the FIFA International Break.
Dedza Dynamos Chief Administration Officer Guston Kamkos Banda confirmed to Wa Mpira that the sponsor will be in attendance but declined to reveal the name.
“It’s true that as a team we are in the final stages of our discussions with the new sponsor. There is a change—it’s not the same as Premier Bet—but people will know who is going to sponsor us tomorrow at Dedza Stadium,” said Banda.
“People should come in large numbers to support the team when we play against Kamuzu Barracks to see for themselves. The potential sponsors will be at Dedza Stadium to watch the game for the first time.”
The financial constraints have significantly impacted the team’s on-field performance this season. Dedza Dynamos currently sit in the relegation zone with just 15 points from 15 matches, highlighting the urgent need for investment to improve their squad and infrastructure.
If completed, this sponsorship deal would represent one of the largest individual investments in Malawi football and could dramatically transform Dedza Dynamos’ fortunes both on and off the pitch.
