FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Head Coach Peter Mponda has expressed strong confidence in his squad’s ability to navigate a demanding fixture list, as the team gears up for a packed schedule of crucial matches.
Bullets’ calendar is indeed filling up. Having secured a spot in the Airtel Top 8 Cup final after beating Karonga United, they are now set for a series of high-stakes encounters.

Their immediate focus is on a Wednesday clash against Moyale Barracks, followed by a high-profile June 29 match against Silver Strikers in the FCB 30th Anniversary Celebration at Bingu National Stadium.
July promises no respite, with a July 2 game against Ekhaya FC at Kamuzu Stadium, a July 7 face-off with Civil Service United, and then the much-anticipated Airtel Top 8 Cup final against Silver Strikers.
“Squad depth is key”
Speaking to the press on Tuesday in Blantyre, Mponda acknowledged the relentless nature of the upcoming games but remained unfazed. “It’s true, games are coming thick and fast, but we have a good squad depth to manage that,” he stated.
He further emphasized the shared challenge across the league, dismissing any room for complaint: “Every team is dealing with the same schedule, so, there is no reason to complain. We just have to take a game at a time.”
“Respect for Moyale Barracks”

Bullets, currently sitting in second place in the league with 21 points from eight matches, boast an impressive offensive record with 22 goals scored and only two conceded, along with six clean sheets.
Their recent form includes a 2-1 victory over Karonga United in the Airtel Top 8 semifinal and a 2-0 league win against Mighty Tigers. Despite a recent 1-0 loss to Mighty Wanderers, their dominant run has seen them convincingly beat Kamuzu Barracks (4-0) and Chitipa United (3-0).
Their next opponents, Moyale Barracks, are positioned sixth with 13 points from eight games. While Moyale has shown mixed results recently, including a 2-0 defeat to Mzuzu City Hammers and a goalless draw with Chitipa United, Mponda is not underestimating them.
Historically, Moyale has been a tough nut to crack for the Bullets, especially at Kamuzu Stadium, and has managed draws in their last two league meetings.
“Moyale are a strong side,” Mponda affirmed. “Yes, recent results haven’t gone their way but they remained a good team. We are playing at Kamuzu Stadium, our goal is to dominate and win the game.”
He added that the team’s hunger for victory is palpable, citing their performance against Karonga United: “The players are hungry, you could see the way they handled the game against Karonga United, it wasn’t an easy game but we dug deep and got the win.”
