The team’s head coach, Peter Mponda, said he was happy to claim the win as he planned to do well in the match but said it’s too early to say his team will win the TNM Super League.
“A convincing win and I’m very happy because it’s what we agreed to do so we managed to keep possession but in the first half we failed to open up the spaces and thanks to Uchizi [Vunga] who produced a moment of brilliance to put us on track and the performance is very convincing.” Said Mponda.
Meanwhile, Macdonald Mtetemera, the man in charge of Creck Sporting Club said he was happy with the team’s performance in the match and looks forward to starting winning games soon as he knows what he is doing now.
“It was a good game I hope saw it yourself, I think they are tactical issues which even if I tell you it’s nothing but I’m happy with how my boys played, maybe in all games we have lost, but this one they did well so they are still learning and soon you will be talking that we have started winning games because I know what I’m doing.” Said Mtetemera.

The match started on a high note with Babangida Ishaya’s shot nearly sent into his own net by Chikondi Kamanga in the second minute then Adiel Kaduya shot wide after being set by Vunga who also fed Chimwemwe Idana in the 22nd minute but his shot was saved by Charles Chisale.
Zebron Kalima paved the way for Chinsisi Maonga in the 37th minute while Rahim Mtondera came in for Yamikani Tambala in the 44th minute then Vunga sent a 25-metre shot but the Bankers were ahead a minute later.
Atusaye Nyondo replaced Binwell Katinji on a halftime change for the Bankers then Hardy Ng’andu forced George Chikooka with a save in the 52nd minute before Mtetemera introduced Frank Phiri and Dalitso Nahipa for Arnold Kiyama and Ademola Ajibola three minutes later. MMangabhad ate three opponents and his pass was intercepted by Chisale but Idana scored on a rebound to double the scores in the 61st minute then Creck’s goal was ruled out for an infringement on Chikoina in the 69th minute.
Wakisa Mwakifuna and Yacine Chida replaced Mtondera and Daudi Chalira for the visitors while Emmanuel Muyira, Patrick Macheso, and Emmanuel Kaunga replaced Adiel Kaduya, Idana, and Tatenda M’balaka for the Bankers but they had already claimed a win in the match.
The Bankers now have 16 points from their 6 opening games after recording five wins and a draw and sit three points ahead of second-placed Mzuzu City Hammers while Creck Sporting Club have not won after the second week as they have 7 points from 6 games on position 11.
Up next, Silver Strikers travel to Karonga again to face Karonga United in their third away match of the season while Creck Sporting Club will date FCB Nyasa Big Bullets
