Big Bullets started slowly this season but reasonably. They played a 1-all stalemate against Dedza at a venue where they are winless in seven matches, they played a barren draw against Tigers with a depleted squad as at least eight players were ruled out due to infection.
However, they recovered themselves with a convincing 3-0 win away to Chitipa United before laboring for a 2-1 win over Baka City.

Kalisto Pasuwa has one win, and one defeat in nine Blantyre Derby league matches since joining Bullets in 2018 as the Head Coach but has gotten better of the Nomads in other competitions, a notable 4-1 massacre in the Airtel Top 8 Cup, 4-0 humiliation in FDH Bank Cup.
Speaking on what the team needs to do to get a positive result on Saturday, the Zimbabwean who is chasing his sixth title said he needs the players to have a positive mindset and called in supporters to come in numbers to support the players.
“Derbies are tricky as everyone wants to win. We only need to be positive. So, [it’s] the mindset that will make one win, when getting there into the pitch, to some of our boys, don’t put themselves under too much pressure because at the moment you give yourself pressure, you will end up making mistakes.
‘” I do not talk much of history and I have been changing players every year, so we can’t talk about what we did in 2022 when we don’t have players that played in that season.
“We go there play, motivate our boys, and we can’t put too much pressure on them. Remember, these are league matches and we have so many matches coming,” he said.
Pasuwa calls for support from the supporters, players’ commitment
The 75th Blantyre Derby has brought a lot of off-field issues, starting from Wednesday with tension on who would handle the game. Sulom eventually showed their power to stick to Mayamiko Kanjere to handle the game despite FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ request to have him changed.
Kalisto Pasuwa said the supporters should come in large numbers to support the team as they face their cross-town rivals at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon.
“We expect a lot of entertainment in the game. The supporters should come in large numbers. They should come and see how derbies are being played,” he said.
Pasuwa added that the players should give it all to the supporters who always want their team to win.
“We have been supporters before, and we have seen how it’s done, and even now we are still supporters. We can even see the derbies that other teams are playing and we are supporters, we go to the extent of not eating, wanting your team to win.
“So, I’m saying, to us who are playing in the field of play, let’s be composed, let’s make people see good football, good football in terms of how it is done, you need to do the right moments of the game, where you need to keep possession, you keep it, where may be out of possession, we also need to play with structure and make people be entertained,” he added.
