Barely hours after supporters called for his sacking, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Head Coach, Nsazurwimo Ramadan has tendered his resignation letter to the Club’s Board and President, Thomson Mpinganjira, reports Nation Sport.
The Burundian Coach was appointed the Head Coach for the Club in February this year before arriving in March, he arrived with promises but the Nomads haven’t been impressed by the team’s performance under the tutelage of Ramadan.
After overseeing the team in just eight league matches, the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Super League winning coach has decided to leave his post as he feels that he is no longer being loved at the Club.
He confirmed in an interview with Nation Sport this evening stating, “If the table doesn’t serve you anymore, what do you do?… complete the sentence…yes! I won’t comment further.”
After two wins over newly promoted teams, CRECK Sporting Club and FOMO FC, Ramadan felt that he had the winning formula but he lost two games, drawing twice in his last five games at the Club.
The team endured morale-milking results in the last five games, winning just once including two back-to-back defeats against Silver Strikers and Mzuzu City Hammers.
After a 2-0 defeat at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday, the atmosphere became harsh for the Coach as the supporters demanded his ‘immediate’ sacking of players were also in trouble as fans demanded them to walk on foot for a below-par performance.
The Nomads have been hunting for glory in the last six years, watching their cross-town sworn rivals, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets claim five TNM Super League Championships and they only won one trophy [Airtel Top 8.]
In a season that they are labeling a “making Mighty Mukuru Wanderers might again”, the Nomads are already far from the title race as they are 10 points adrift of the leaders, Silver Strikers.
Mwase on the way to the throne

The Club is yet to issue a statement on the development but Wa Mpira understands that the Nomads are ready to allow Meke Mwase to step into the leading role in the technical panel as they feel that he has “vast experience and is ready to manage the squad.”
Wanderers’ Chief Executive Officer, Panganen Ndobvi hinted at it in an interview with Times Sport when pressed on the resignation of the coach.
“If the coach has, indeed, left his job, we expect him to follow the right channel and if it is, indeed, true, then the available technical staff members will take up his role, with Meck Mwase, his deputy, taking over in the meantime,” he says.
Meke Mwase was appointed to deputize the Burundian earlier this year to make Mighty Mukuru Wanderers might again.
Ramadan was living dead

Nsazurwimo Ramadan was living dead, waiting for the right time to lose his job. Had he failed to tender his resignation letter, the Nomads would have been under his neck, assessing the performance of the team and he couldn’t survive three losses.
Sources told Wa Mpira that the head coach lost the dressing room and the trust of the board just after the first game when the team played a 1-all stalemate against Kamuzu Barracks.
“Players have a better relationship with [Meke] Mwase than with Ramadan. They feel free to saliva their issues to the assistant coach,” said the source.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers board made the decision to strip the coach of the mandate to face the press after the “catch-up games” claim and Ramadan started feeling marginalized.
Mwase 51, was even aware of his destination, the Nomads made a clear message to him that he would become the Head Coach. The former Jomo Cosmos, Michau Warriors, and Big Bullets defender worked as a coach for Flames, TN Stars, and Nsingizini Hotspurs.
