Mighty Wanderers have received a major boost ahead of their trip to Lilongwe, as two key attacking players, Isaac Kaliati and Clement Nyondo, have recovered from their injuries and are available for selection. The Nomads are set to face Civil Service United on Sunday in their final match of the first round of the 2025 TNM Super League season.
The team will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive draws against Moyale Barracks and Chitipa United. The return of Kaliati and Nyondo is timely and will provide more attacking options for head coach Bob Mpinganjira.

In a Friday interview with the club’s media, Mpinganjira confirmed the positive news. “We have welcomed Clement Nyondo and Isaac Kaliati back from injuries. They have trained with their peers this week and are available for selection should the coaches decide to take them on board,” he said. Mpinganjira added that their final assessment would be on Saturday, but they are expected to travel with the squad.
Sama and Kamanga Remain Sidelined

While the return of Kaliati and Nyondo is a welcome development, Mpinganjira confirmed that two other players, Sama Tanjong and Mphatso Kamanga, are still not ready to play. Both players have yet to feature in the super league this season due to their injuries.
Kamanga, a former Karonga United midfielder, underwent surgery earlier this year, while Tanjong sustained a knock during the Charity Shield match against Silver Strikers. “Sama is still undergoing physiotherapy, while Mphatso Kamanga is doing light training,” Mpinganjira explained.
Mighty Wanderers currently sit at the top of the league table with 34 points. A win against Civil Service United would see them finish the first round with 37 points, solidifying their position at the summit.
Their opponents, Civil Service United, are currently in seventh place with 22 points. How would you like me to tailor the tone of this article? I can make it more formal, or focus on a different aspect of the story, like the impact of the injuries on the team’s performance.
