Silver Strikers have appointed midfielder Uchizi Vunga as the team’s third captain following the departure of Chimwemwe Idana, who previously held the position at the Bankers.
The team confirmed the appointment on Wednesday through their website, which indicates that Chikondi Kamanga and Maxwell Paipi remain the first two captains for the team, while Vunga takes the role of Idana, who joined ZANACO FC last week.

Vunga has expressed bliss to have been tasked with the important role at the team and will serve it with full dedication at the Bankers.

“My journey has been a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs, but Silver Strikers FC has always been my family and a place I have always called home.
As I embark on a new challenge in my life as the third captain of this mighty club, I want to thank everyone at this great club, including the technical staff, my teammates, and our beloved supporters, for the relentless support rendered to me,” wrote Vunga on his Facebook page.
Vunga joined the Bankers in 2022 from Mzuzu Warriors and established himself as one of the best players in the team, helping the club end their 10-year league championship drought in 2024, where he was named the best midfielder in the league.
