Silver Strikers were left to rue missed chances as they played out a goalless draw with Mighty WakaWaka Tigers in a TNM Super League match at Silver Stadium on Saturday August 2.
From the onset, Silver dominated proceedings and looked the likelier side to find the breakthrough. Stain Davie had an early opportunity in the second minute but failed to connect with a low cross from Dan Sandukira, while goalkeeper Sunganani Mponda misjudged the ball.
The Bankers continued to mount pressure, creating several clear-cut chances. In the fifth minute, Chinsinsi Maonga was set through by Zebron Kalima, but his shot was saved by Mponda. Sandukira pounced on the rebound but fired way over the bar.

Despite the early dominance, Silver could not capitalize. In the 38th minute, Davie came closest with a header that hit the post following a well-delivered free kick from Uchizi Vunga. Levison Maganizo fired over on the rebound, summing up Silver’s frustrating half.
Tigers, who had little going forward, managed their first shot on target in the 15th minute through a Kambilinya free kick, but it was comfortably gathered by goalkeeper George Chikooka.
At halftime, Silver brought on Charles Chipala, Binwell Katinji, and Precious Sambani in a triple substitution to inject more urgency into their attack. The changes had an immediate impact as Silver intensified their press, forcing Mponda into two saves in quick succession.
However, despite their dominance in possession and territory, the home side lacked composure in the final third.
Silver introduced Lasuli Jali for Kalima in the 73rd minute, while Tigers lost Philip Chavula to injury, with Wisdom Jere coming in.
Tigers subbed on Shukrana Affick to replace an injured Grayson Msowoya in stoppage time, but there was still no way through.
The match ended 0-0, with Silver Strikers failing to make their superiority count, while Mighty Tigers walked away with a hard-earned point. Mponda was named Player of the Match for his heroics in goals.

The result resembled many times in the past as Silver always find it hard to cruise past the KauKau boys.
