Tigers in “extreme crisis” amidst sponsorship woes
Mighty Tigers Technical Director Robin ‘Abambo’ Alufandika has revealed the club is in an “extreme crisis” due to severe financial difficulties, lacking any sponsorship. He’s urging companies and individuals to come to the aid of the struggling team.
Alufandika confirmed that the Tigers, along with 16 other TNM Super League teams, are still awaiting a K20 million subvention fee disbursement from Super League of Malawi and the Football Association of Malawi.

However, he declined to comment further on this particular issue, stating it falls under the purview of the team’s treasurer. Despite this, he emphasized the urgent need for assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
“We are in intense trouble financially, and we ask people who are able to approach different companies to come and assist us, not forgetting individuals who are willing to help,” Alufandika pleaded. “When we are talking that Tigers is Mighty, it is all possible because of money.”
The “Kaukau Boys” currently find themselves without a sponsor for the 2025-26 season. Their contract with Waka Waka expired, and the company chose not to renew the deal, only providing the team with branded kits for the current season.
In the TNM Super League, Mighty Tigers are currently in 11th position with 10 points after nine matches, having secured three wins, one draw, and five defeats.
