Three “Bullets” batter Lions of Forthills

Patrick Mwaungulu carried FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on his shoulders with a goal and two assists to inspire them to their first win of the season as they walloped Chitipa United 0-3 at the Karonga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Babatunde Adepoju scored for the People’s team to turn the game into their favour because substitute, Ephraim Kondowe producing a masterclass 20 minute cameo with a goal and assisted Mwaungulu to seal the much needed win.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, siluted Chitipa United for the early display but said Bullets got it after getting their surprise goal in the first half plus the work of substitutes he trusted in the game.

“A tiresome game where the opposition started well thumbs up to them, very quick on the ball, spirit of play but it was the goal that made them to lose tempo then we took over from there where we controlled areas like the centre, we were running them all over and playing them into spaces so we created chances and we put on the Substitutes, the Substitutes did well tactically and we controlled the game and we won three nil,” highlighted Pasuwa.

Meanwhile, Deputy coach for Chitipa United, Elvis Kafoteka, said a sloppy performance in the second half led to the hefty defeat by the People’s team but he is confident that the team will be good in the upcoming games.

“It’s a painful loss for us because we played to do well at least we could get a point and we played very well in the first half and in the second half, we were completely down, we could not attack but with how the boys played in the first half, I’m confident that it will be a good team as we are under construction.” Said Kafoteka.

The hosts started on high with Stimella Muyira missing his effort on fourth minutes but Ernest Petro shot wide before Rajab Nyirenda shooting his free kick over the bar then Kennedy Nakhaima denied Patrick Mwaungulu with a save on 21st minute after found by Antony Mfune.

Babatunde Adepoju registered a goal in his first game since his return after Mwaungulu found him on 23rd minute then Muyira was denied by Innocent Nyasulu on the half hourmark as Babatunde missed on a one on one situation and Gomegzani Chirwa cleared the ball off the line after Muyira had beaten Nyasulu on 45th minute.

A low start from both teams in the second half was witnessed in the first 10 minutes then Mfune shot straight to Nakhaima before Jack Beza blasting over the bar on the hourmark and Mwaungulu was denied by Nakhaima 6 minutes later.

Bright Masebo replaced Muyira on 70th minute for Chitipa as Ephraim Kondowe and Ronald Chitiyo came in for Babatunde and Mfune before Nyasulu denying Ramadan Ntafu with a brilliant save then Mwaungulu found Kondowe on 79th minute to double the scores and returned the favour two minutes later to Mwaungulu to score his own.

Following the win, the People’s are on position 6 with 5 points from three games two points behind leaders, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers while Chitipa United are up to 11th with 3 points from three games.
