Thete FC have cemented their top position in the Saint Louis High School Dedza District Football League despite suffering a shock 3-0 defeat against bottom-placed Chimbiya FC on Sunday.
The Happy Chimangeni side are three points clear of second-placed Thenzi FC with a game in hand and five points ahead of third-placed Mua Boys after playing the same number of games.

On Sunday, the team suffered its first defeat in many games since June 29, 2025, when they were outclassed by Dedza Police Eagles in the opening match of the season by the same margin.
Bottom-placed Chimbiya FC were simply too good for them despite managing only six points before yesterday’s game. They now sit on nine points in 13 games.
The league leaders Thete FC have collected 28 points in 12 games with nine wins, two losses, and a single draw.
Recently, General Secretary for Dedza District Football Association (DDFA) Adam Shosholoza Hashim announced that he will provide three match balls to the top three teams at the end of the first round.
“I am doing this as an individual, not as the association, because I know many teams struggle to have match balls despite their passion for the game,” Shosho said.
He commended Saint Louis High School for supporting the association since the 2022 season.
“They are our pride and we urge our teams to always remain disciplined to avoid tarnishing the image of our sponsor,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shosho revealed that they will finish the first round within two to three weeks.
