Silver Strikers will be without key defender Maxwell Paipi for their upcoming match against Blue Eagles, as head coach Peter Mgangira confirmed the center-back has suffered a groin injury.
The injury, sustained during the Cosafa Cup against Lesotho, has already kept Paipi out of two group stage games at the tournament.
Paipi, who has been a consistent performer for the defending champions, was replaced by Andrew Jovinala after picking up the injury. His absence will be keenly felt as the Central Bankers look to close the gap on FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers, who currently sit seven and five points ahead of them, respectively.

Speaking ahead of the short trip to Nankhaka Stadium, Mgangira stated, “Maxwell Paipi has suffered a groin injury and we are not going to have him in this game against Blue Eagles.”
The coach also revealed that Precious Sambani, Gift Chunga, and Charles Chipala remain sidelined due to injuries.
However, Mgangira emphasized the depth of his squad, adding, “But this cannot be an excuse because we signed 30 players. We believe that anyone who is going to be given the chance will perform and show that they are part of this team.”
The Silver Strikers are eager to regain consistency as they aim to defend their title.
