Silver Strikers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have agreed to make a joint security team that will be tasked to provide maximum security when the two teams face off in future games after violence that occurred during the recent meeting between the two heavyweights in Blantyre.
The officials from the two teams held a joint press briefing on Thursday where they addressed the media on what they have agreed after their discussions.

The people’s team officials traveled to Lilongwe to face their counterpart, Silver Strikers’ officials, and amicably solve the issue as they expressed their commitment to repairing the bus which was damaged during the fracas.
Speaking during the press briefing, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda said football is a game that unites people and violence should not be tolerated.
“As Big Bullets, we strongly condemn violence and it is not welcome in our camp. We were shocked by the violence that erupted last weekend. We released the press statement and we felt like it was not enough, we decided to come and show our remorse to Silver Strikers for the vice.
“Big Bullets don’t want to make Kamuzu Stadium a place that will endanger football fans’ lives and as a Club, we will take all necessary measures to ensure maximum security during our games,” he said.
Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba commended Bullets for the gesture saying that they have shown sportsmanship.
“The two teams have gained a lot in recent years and we don’t want to lose it. We thank Big Bullets for their gesture and as Silver Strikers, we are open to working with them for maximum security during our games,” he said.
The Central Bankers claimed all points on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium after Chinsisi Maonga’s late goal but the game was marred by fracas which led to damage to Silver Strikers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ buses.
The Super League of Malawi charged Bullets with two accounts, failing to control the actions of their supporters and officials during the match and caused some disorderness, damaging the image of the sponsors TNM plc, the Super League of Malawi and the game.
Meanwhile, Bullets said they are consulting their lawyers on the matter to see the way forward.
