Premier Bet, Malawi’s leading sports betting and lotto provider, has officially relaunched Premier Lotto in the Central Region. This follows a successful launch in the Southern Region the previous week.
Premier Lotto was initially introduced in Malawi in 2019 but took a hiatus in 2024. However, the game has made a strong comeback in 2025, with Premier Bet expressing its commitment to staying in the market long-term.
Speaking at the relaunch event held at Wakawaka Market in Lilongwe on Friday afternoon, Moses Namacha, Premier Bet Malawi’s Regional Manager for the Central Region, outlined the company’s goal of expanding its reach and giving more people the opportunity to participate. He emphasized that both men and women are encouraged to join in the excitement.

Namacha also urged participants to bet responsibly, highlighting the importance of not using money intended for other essential needs.
“We are targeting to employ about 1,000 young people as sales agents for Premier Lotto,” Namacha shared. “We had a brief break in 2023-2024, but we’re proud to say that we’re back for good. We have a new office in Blantyre, and we’re here to reward winners generously.”
He continued, “At Premier Bet, we offer a variety of games, but sometimes women are hesitant to visit our shops. That’s why we’ve created an opportunity for them to participate by visiting our agents, where they can purchase tickets starting at just MK100.”
The company plans to expand its network of agents across Malawi, also creating more employment opportunities for young people. However, Namacha stressed the importance of betting responsibly.
A Lucky Winner Takes Home MK500,000

During the launch event, Premier Bet engaged attendees with music competitions and a chance to win big through Premier Lotto. Matias Jiya, Chairperson of Wakawaka Market, was among those who placed a bet. With a stake of MK2,000, Jiya was fortunate enough to win MK500,000 during the draw held at the event.
Jiya expressed his gratitude to Premier Bet for offering such a platform to youth and urged fellow winners to use their earnings wisely.
“I’m thrilled to be the lucky winner,” Jiya said. “I plan to use this money to increase my business capital. I want to thank Premier Bet for this amazing opportunity.”
