Silver Strikers Head Coach Peter Mgangira has openly acknowledged that midfield maestro Chimwemwe Idana, who recently completed his transfer to Zambian side Zanaco FC, is an irreplaceable talent at the club.

Despite this admission, Mgangira remains resolute, challenging his remaining players to elevate their performances and collectively compensate for Idana’s significant departure.

The Central Bankers officially announced on Monday that the influential midfielder was leaving the club after a successful two-and-a-half-year stint, having joined them in February 2023.

Idana is now poised to embark on a new chapter in his career, reportedly having signed a two-year contract with Zanaco FC, with the details of the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Peter Mgangira was candid about the challenge ahead. He articulated that while Idana’s individual brilliance cannot be replicated, he expects the collective strength of his squad to step up.

“I’m glad Chimwemwe has found a new club outside Malawi, which is good for him and for us as a country,” Mgangira stated. “I don’t expect the remaining players to be Idana, as everyone has different skills. Those who stay need to improve and do more.”
