“We tried to offer Paul Master a new contract, but he stood by his decision to leave the club,” Kananji told Blue Eagles Media. “It’s unfortunate to lose him, but we respect his choice.”
Master’s departure comes as Blue Eagles prepare for their TNM Super League opener against Mighty Wanderers FC in Blantyre. Despite this loss, Kananji assured fans that the team is ready for the season ahead.
In addition to Master’s exit, the club also lost Brighton Munthali to Creck Sporting Club and Andrew Jovinala to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. However, Kananji expressed confidence in the new signings brought in to fill these gaps.
“We have signed Precious Masamba to replace Brighton Munthali. In defense, we have brought in Davie Malenguka along with other reinforcements. In midfield, we have also made new additions, including Mathias Nyirenda,” Kananji explained. “Additionally, John Banda has returned to the squad, so we are good to go.”
Despite the departures, Blue Eagles have received a boost with a fully fit squad ahead of their clash with Mighty Wanderers.
“We thank God that we don’t have any injury concerns. All of our players registered for this season are available for selection, and we will be traveling with a squad of 24 players,” Kananji confirmed.
With a reinforced squad and new talent ready to step up, Blue Eagles aim to make a strong statement as they return to Malawi’s top-flight league.
