Here is our opinion-based Best XI of Matchweek Ten compiled by Blessings Chitekwere:
Goalkeeper: Blessings Juma (Civil)
The former Extreme FC goalkeeper was a standout performer in a game that Civil Service United bagged home a point against Mafco FC.
The shostopper did not only keep a cleansheet but made four saves in quick succession to avoid Mafco from scoring. He was named the player of the match deservedly.
Right Back: Blessings Mpokera (Bullets)
The towering utility player is enjoying by far his best season since he was promoted from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve. Blessings Mpokera has been the pillar for Bullets this season and indeed, he was the pillar as Bullets beat Tigers 2-0 on Sunday.
Blessings has been a blessing for Bullets under Peter Mponda and he was deservedly named the player of the match.
Left Back Nangie Songa (Karonga)
The talented full-back was a star when Karonga United beat struggling Mzuzu City Hammers 2-0 on Sunday. Songa helped his team to keep a cleansheet and they move to 4th with 15 points from 7 games.
Centre Back: Happy Mphepo (Ekhaya)

The talented defender switched base from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve to Ekhaya and indeed, he has grabbed the TNM Super League chance by both hands.
Mphepo has been a standout player for Ekhaya FC this season, they are third on the log table. He helped Ekhaya to keep cleansheet when they claimed a 1-0 win over Creck Sporting on Saturday.
Centre Back: Lumbani Nyirongo (Chitipa United)
Despite Chitipa United remain languished to the bottom of three of the table, Lumbani Nyirongo is one of the players who are putting effort to rescue the team.
Nyirongo was the main man When Chitipa United played a barren draw against Moyale Barracks on Sunday.
Defending midfielder: Checkson Alizi (Blue Eagles)
The defending midfielder anchored Blue Eagles in their 1-1 draw and without doubt, he was named the player of the match. Facing a resolute midfield of Chimwemwe Idana, Uchizi Vunga, Levison Maganizo and Festus Duwe, it was the duty of the Eagles’ midfield to be at their best.
Against all odds, the Area 30-based Cops were the first to score through Laurent Banda before Zebron Kalima cancelled the sensational strike late in the game.
Central Midfielder: Blessings Singini (Wanderers)
If they were yet to unleash him, Mighty Wanderers have done it this season. Blessings Singini has been one of the best players for the Nomads this season, from scoring a sensational goal in the Charity Shield to putting the club as serious contenders for the championship.
Singini capped off his performance against Kamuzu Barracks with a goal as the Nomads ran riot over the Yellow Submarines in a 3-0 win.
Attacking midfielder: Patrick Phiri (Karonga United)
After playing for several clubs including Bullets, Civil Service United and Bangwe All Stars, Patrick Phiri, the famous Mr 90 minutes are back in Karonga.
He has had good performances since joining the club but his Sunday’s performance against Hammers couldn’t be unnoticed. Karonga beat City Hammers 2-0.
Right Wing Forward: Gaddie Chirwa
Always a threat. Gaddie Chirwa was even singled out as one of the players who performed well at the just-ended Cosafa cup by Kalisto Pasuwa.
Gaddie Chirwa put a bright performance as Wanderers beat Kamuzu Barracks 3-0 and he provided an assist for Wisdom Mpinganjira’s goal before putting his name on to the scoresheet. Deservedly, Gaddie was the player of the match.
Left Wing Forward: Laurent Banda (Blue Eagles)
A rocket, a cracker. With that goal, he wouldn’t miss in our team of the week. Laurent Banda set up the atmosphere of the Lilongwe derby over the weekend when he beat George Chikooka with a thunderbolt from outside the box.
Unfortunately, he didn’t hog the headlines as Kalima cancelled it out late in the game. However, the goal will remain as one of the best goals scored this season.
Centre Forward: Gift Magola (Dedza Dynamos)
He is a makeshift striker in our team of the week, but a winger naturally. Gift Magola bagged two goals as Dedza Dynamos beat struggling Songwe Boarder FC 3-0 on Sunday.
Magola was praised by his head coach, Alex Ngwira after the game and he won the Player of the match award.
