The National Youth Football Association (NYFA) has confirmed receiving K21 million from First Capital Bank as part of the sponsorship package for the FCB Katswiri U20 League.

NYFA General Secretary Rabson Woodwell confirmed the development in an interview with Wa Mpira, stating that the funds arrived ahead of the league’s second round, which kicks off on Saturday, 11th October 2025.

“Part of the funds will be used to pay referees for both the first and second rounds,” Woodwell said.

The payment follows the association’s statement earlier this week that the bank had assured them administration funds would be disbursed before the second round begins.

Woodwell expressed satisfaction with the timing of the payment, saying it demonstrates the bank’s commitment to developing football in the country.

“We’re so excited and relieved with this news because it means the second round will start while funds are already in the district committees’ bank accounts,” he added.

Meanwhile, the association has appealed to the public to rely on official sources for information about their competitions to avoid being misled.
