In a bid to add firepower to its attacking front, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers signed Cameroonian striker Sama Thierry Tanjong on May 2 this year. Weeks passed without the player, nicknamed “Predator,” kicking a ball in Malawi’s TNM Super League as efforts to get his work permit faced hiccups.
At long last, there is now joy in the Nomads camp as the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has issued an International Transfer Certificate (ITC), making the player free to play for the Nomads. Football Association of Malawi (FAM) club licensing and compliance manager, Casper Jangale, acknowledged receipt of the ITC and commented that all that remains is for Wanderers to have their player registered with the Super League of Malawi (SULOM), after which he will be able to play.
Optimistic that “Predator” will be available for selection in the team’s 9th league fixture this coming Saturday, June 1, against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos upon submission of the player’s registration to SULOM, Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi has urged fans to come and cheer the team as it campaigns to get back to its winning ways after suffering 2-0 back-to-back defeats against Silver Strikers and Mzuzu City Hammers.

This comes when Wanderers’ attacking line is being criticized for being wasteful and misfiring, as the team has only managed to score 9 goals in its 8 games played thus far. Of the goals, striker Clement Nyondo, last season’s top goal scorer, has only scored once, with Christopher Kumwembe scoring twice, meaning the other 6 goals have come from non-strikers.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers is currently in 5th position, having accumulated 12 points from 8 games, and is looking forward to moving up the log table if they win against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos in their upcoming home fixture.
