The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has now finished the playoffs of the One Nico Top 12 Netball Cup with the last round of the playoffs being played in the Northern Region, Mzuzu.
NAM in conjunction with the sponsors launched the playoffs in the Southern Region, Blantyre in June where they identified three teams before holding the same tournament in the Eastern Region.

Kukoma Diamonds, Tigresses and Blantyre Tremors were the first to qualify for the finals of the tournament in the Southern region before being joined by Prison Queens, Airforce Falcons and Genius Sisters from the Eastern Region.
The Central Region will be represented by Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets and Young Eagles while in the Northern Region, Ekwendeni Resources Centre, Moyale Sisters and Mzimba Sisters were the top three teams that have qualified for the finals of the competition.

NAM General Secretary, Yamikani Kauma was impressed with the playoffs in all the regions saying she expects a stiff competition in be final phase of the tournament.
“We expect first have a very entertaining One Nico Top 12 tournament and competitive one because cream of teams have qualified for the final phase,” she said.
Nico Holdings Corporate Affairs Manager, Mumba Mlia-Ndasauka said the company has been impressed with the performance of the teams during the playoffs.
“Our object is to unearth hidden talent and develop netball in the country. We encourage the teams to train hard ahead of the tournament,” she said.
The National Phase of the competition will be played on August 30 this year in Lilongwe.
Nico Holdings plc last year unveileda K1 billion three-year sponsorship for the Malawi Queens and the Nico Top-12 National Netball Cup, to run between 2024 and 2027.
The sponsorship, whose biggest chunk will go towards Queens’ activities, will also see the financial services group launching a locally designed and produced new kit for the Malawi National Netball Team.
