Mitundu Strikers’ forward, Raheem Mtondera, continued his electrifying start to the campaign by scoring his second hat-trick in the NBS Bank National Division League, helping Mitundu Baptist secure their second win of the season with a 3-0 away victory over Jenda United at Kasungu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The forward, who netted three times last week during the official opening of the league, was in top form once again, scoring once in the first half and adding two more goals in the second half, bringing his tally to six goals in just two matches.
The victory means Baptist remain at the top of the league with six points from two games, having scored seven goals and conceded just one, with both fixtures played away from home. Jenda remain winless in their opening matches, with no points, sitting in 11th position.

Meanwhile, in Blantyre, Bangwe All Stars maintained their perfect start to the season after defeating FOMO FC 2-0 at Mpira Stadium.

Mervin Mwaira opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before Selemani Mussa netted the second in the 90th minute, handing the Mulanje-based side their second defeat in the country’s second-tier league.
The win places Bangwe in second position with six points from two games, having won both matches, scored four goals, and conceded just one. FOMO, on the other hand, have no points from two matches, having scored none and conceded three, placing them in 10th position.
In another match, Red Lions claimed a vital away win by beating Chilumba Barracks 1-0 to secure their first win of the season in the Northern Region.
Abel Gerald’s 39th-minute strike was enough for the soldiers to overcome their fellow military side and earn their first three points. They are now 7th with three points, while Chilumba are 9th with no points.
Staying in the North, Manase Mlenga scored a 90th-minute equalizer to deny Ntaja United a win, as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a thrilling encounter. The visitors took the lead in the 79th minute through Brian Kumtambira, but the hosts managed to avoid a home defeat by grabbing a late equalizer.

The result means both teams now have four points from two matches, with Ntaja United sitting fourth in the standings, while Chintheche are sixth on the table.
On Saturday, Mchinji Villa suffered their second defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to Namitete Zitha, with Maxwell Magwero’s penalty kick sealing the win. Mchinji Villa are at the bottom of the table with no points, while Zitha are third with six points from two wins.
On Friday, Ndirande Stars and Baka City played to a 1-1 draw in Blantyre, settling for a point each after full time. Enock Kaonga scored for Baka in the fifth minute, but Aubrey Mwale leveled for the 10-man hosts to secure the draw.
The result places Baka City in fifth position after week two, with four points from a win and a draw, while Stars are eighth with one point from a draw and a loss.
