Mighty Waka Waka Tigers head coach, Leo Mpulula, was left fuming at the officiation saying they gifted a goal to their opponents as they conceded a 90th-minute own goal to draw 1-1 against Dedza Dynamos at the Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Mpulula spoke to the media after the match and said his boys played very well in the match only that the referee gave Dynamos a goal but that is not good for a small team like Tigers.

“The referee has given them a goal, there was no infringement there that he could have blown the whistle but this is not good, we need to be fair when managing these games but to my boys, they played very and I have no problem with them, they followed what I told and did everything so that we win.” Said Mpulula.

The Kaukau boys led on the 68th minute through Kelvin Banda’s finish from Precious Chiudza’s free-kick but Martin Msewa Jr sent the ball into his own net in the 90th minute for the teams to settle for a point each.

Meanwhile, Dedza Dynamos head coach, Andrew Bunya, said his team was outplayed in the first half as the Tigers dominated the midfield but their performance in the second half earned them a point which is not bad when playing away from home.

“It was a tough game as our friends came very hard on us, in the first half they outplayed us in the midfield and had everything to hurt us but we managed to contain them then second half we played well, cleared chances which we missed but I think a point away from home is also good.” Said Bunya.

Bunya then introduced Joseph Balakasi, Edward Dakalira, and Victor Lungu at halftime for Marko Chiwaya, Limbani Phiri, and Ibrahim Sadik then Kamwendo headed over the bar in the 48th minute as Dynamos started dominating.

Mezayah Kachingwe and Zikani Munthali came in for Chifundo George and Shukurani Afiki for Tigers in the 64th minute before Kelvin Banda headed in a Chiudza’s free-kick minutes later then Alex Benson replaced Lameck Gamphani while Ben Manyozo replaced Precious Chipungu as both teams attacked each other.
