FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Head Coach Peter Mponda has provided a detailed explanation for the continued absence of newly signed defenders Chikumbutso Henderson and Dominic Musonda from competitive matches, even as the TNM Super League season approaches its midway point.
The People’s Team acquired Henderson from Mzuzu City Hammers and Musonda from Zambian side Mutondo Stars earlier this season. However, neither player has yet to feature in a competitive fixture for the club.

Musonda did play in the pre-season Sapitwa Bonanza but was awaiting his work permit, while Henderson suffered an injury before the season began.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s midweek clash against Moyale Barracks, Mponda emphasized that both defenders are still working on reaching optimal fitness levels before they can be considered for selection.
“Dominic is very close,” Mponda stated. “He is two or three games away; right now he can give us 45 minutes. We are still working on his fitness level. At the back, the guys have been solid, yes, he is knocking but still has work to do to dislodge the players who are currently doing the job.”
Regarding Chikumbutso Henderson, Mponda noted, “For Chikumbutso, in terms of fitness level, he is far, but I believe that there will be games where we will need his experience and aerial presence.”
Despite rotating their defensive lineup in many games this season, with only Blessings Mpokera consistently starting, the Bullets have maintained a strong defensive record, conceding just four goals in eight matches.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be aiming for a win against Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium on Wednesday as they look to reclaim the top spot in the TNM Super League standings.
