Mphasi Makes Winning Comeback for Power Dynamos
Malawi National Team forward Chifundo Mphasi marked his return from injury with an impressive performance on Sunday, featuring in his first match after a four-game absence.
The talented attacker was handed a starting role as Power Dynamos secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Nkhwazi FC in the MTN Super League, helping his side maintain their strong start to the campaign. Mphasi’s outstanding display earned him the Fans’ Player of the Match award, along with K3,000 in prize money.

His last appearance for Dynamos came on September 28 in their CAF Champions League victory against ASEC Mimosa, making Sunday’s return all the more significant for both player and club.

Power Dynamos currently sit 10th in the MTN Super League standings with 14 points from seven matches, recording four victories, two draws, and one defeat. The team trails league leaders Red Arrows and second-placed Zanaco FC by seven points, though both top teams have played two additional matches.
Mphasi will be hoping for another opportunity to shine when Power Dynamos host ZESCO United on Wednesday in their next league fixture
Power Dynamos are competing in the group stages of the CAF Champions League, where they face a challenging draw against RS Berkane of Morocco, Pyramids FC of Egypt, and Rivers United of Nigeria.
Notably, Mphasi is the only Malawian player participating in the group stages of CAF competitions this season, following Silver Strikers’ and Mighty Wanderers’ eliminations in the Champions League and Confederation Cup by Young Africans SC and Jwaneng Galaxy respectively.
Muyaba Makes History with Scotland FC

Former Flames striker Khuda Muyaba has achieved a remarkable milestone in Zimbabwe, as Scotland FC claimed the league championship in their debut season—a rare and historic accomplishment.
The newly-promoted side sealed the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title with an emphatic 5-1 victory over relegated Kwekwe United. Although Muyaba was not in the matchday squad for the title-clinching game, he has been part of the historic campaign throughout the season.
The forward’s most recent appearance came on October 3, when he entered as a substitute in the 84th minute, replacing Terrence Dzakumanja in a 1-0 triumph over Chicken Inn.
With two matches remaining in their season, Scotland FC have amassed 65 points from 32 games, establishing an unassailable seven-point lead over second-placed MWOS, who have collected 58 points.
The achievement is particularly significant as Scotland FC became only the second club since Black Rhinos in 1984 to win the PSL title in their maiden top-flight season.
Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has pledged a substantial $250,000 reward to the champions in recognition of their historic feat.
“In recognition of this massive history-breaking achievement, and for your exemplary leadership and passion for the game of football, I invite the team captain and the team manager to come and see me personally on Saturday to collect USD250,000 as a small token of my appreciation and to share it with the entire team, the coach and the technical staff,” Chivhayo announced.
With the title secured with two games to spare, Scotland FC’s remaining fixtures against Green Fuel and Tel One will serve as celebration matches. The club’s official coronation ceremony is scheduled for the final matchday at Ascot Stadium when they face Tel One.
Mabviravira (The Fighters) have etched their name in Zimbabwean football history with this unprecedented accomplishment.
