Mologeni signs new Three-year deal with Bullets

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have handed defender Yamikani Mologeni a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

The 22-year-old right-back, who came through the Bullets youth system, has committed his future to The People’s Team after impressing since his promotion to the first team at the start of the 2024 season.

Mologeni’s journey to the senior side included a successful loan spell at Bangwe All Stars, where his performances caught the eye of the technical panel and earned him a call-up to Bullets’ main squad.

Since returning to the club, the defender has made 38 appearances, scoring twice and providing nine assists—remarkable statistics that demonstrate his attacking contribution from the back.

Speaking after signing his extension on Friday, Mologeni made it clear that remaining at Bullets was always his intention.

“I want to thank God for granting me this opportunity. Bullets is the biggest club in Malawi, and I don’t take it for granted that I have been given another three years to be part of this successful family,” he

“I had no intentions to leave because this club has pushed me to where I am today. I’ve been here for a long time, and I was looking forward to this day.”

The overlapping fullback outlined his plans to elevate his game during the contract period.

“This contract will help me grow with maturity. I want to improve my movements, my service into the box, and overall consistency so that I can become one of the best players in Malawi,” Mologeni explained.

He also praised the environment at the club, crediting his relationship with coaches and teammates as a major factor in his decision to stay.

“I have a great relationship with my coaches and teammates, and I am very happy that our journey continues together. I want to keep working hard so that we achieve a lot as a team.”

Mologeni’s focus extends beyond personal development, with team success firmly in his sights.

“Football has both good and bad moments, but if we win the league and other cups, we will have a great season. I want to contribute to the team’s success, just like in 2023 when we won the quadruple. I want people to remember me as part of that success story.”

The defender also revealed his long-term aspirations to represent the Malawi National Team consistently and eventually play abroad.

“I want to be a reliable player for the Malawi National Team and eventually play outside Malawi. It would be a dream come true if I get the opportunity to play in Europe or other parts of Africa.”
