Mighty Wanderers’ midfielder Isaac Kaliati will wear a new pair of boots in his next match after photos of his worn-out footwear sparked widespread attention on social media.
Kaliati was pictured wearing boots in poor condition during Sunday’s crucial match in Dedza, where he scored a brilliant winner to keep the Nomads’ title hopes alive. The images quickly went viral, with fans questioning why a player of his caliber was wearing such damaged equipment.

His manager, James Kasambala, has now addressed the situation, attributing the issue to a supplier delay.

“It is so hard to explain to the public, but all I can say is the supplier delayed the delivery,” Kasambala said. “What I can promise is that in the next game on the 19th, he [Isaac] will be in new boots.”
Despite the controversy surrounding his footwear, Kaliati’s quality on the pitch remains undisputed. His match-winning goal against Dedza proved crucial as Mighty Wanderers continue their pursuit of the league championship. The Nomads currently trail log leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets by four points in what has become an increasingly heated title race.
