“A wounded soldier is the most dangerous,” he remarked, emphasizing that despite Songwe’s lack of wins, their performance has been commendable. “They are not a bad side; it’s just unfortunate they haven’t secured victories. We also aim for a win.”
Chimkwita further described the upcoming match as their toughest yet, even more so than their previous encounter with the Wanderers. “If we aspire to climb higher and strengthen our position in the league, winning games is imperative. We’ll exert maximum effort to achieve a favorable result,” he stated.
Songwe Border United, currently 16th on the league table with one point from seven matches, is still seeking their first win. Despite their position, they are determined to secure their inaugural three points against their familiar rivals.
Karonga United, on the other hand, has recorded three wins and two losses in their first five league matches, placing them 7th with 9 points. They trail league leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets by 9 points, with the latter having played one more game.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Karonga Stadium. Both teams are eager to assert their dominance in this local derby, promising an intense and thrilling encounter for fans and supporters.
