Trevor Kajawa will begin his rescue mission at Mighty Tigers on Wednesday following his return to the club after leaving third-tier side Chilobwe United last week.
While the team has yet to make an official statement on the appointment of the former Karonga United and Bangwe All Stars mentor, Kajawa has already been leading training sessions ahead of Wednesday’s match against Creck Sporting Club.

Kajawa was recalled to the Kaukau Boys to replace Leo Mpulula, who has been moved to a scouting manager role following a poor run of results that left Tigers languishing in the relegation zone.
With four wins, five draws, and 10 defeats this season, the Kaukau Boys sit 14th on the log table with 17 points—just three points away from safety.
Tigers have 11 games remaining this season, meaning a maximum of 33 points are still available, which could be enough to secure their survival in the league.
Their remaining fixtures include matches against Mighty Wanderers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Ekhaya FC, Chitipa United, Karonga United, Songwe Border United, Civil Service United, MAFCO, Kamuzu Barracks, Blue Eagles, and Creck Sporting Club on Wednesday.
Kajawa has built a reputation as a firefighter at several clubs. He helped Karonga United maintain their league status in the 2023 season and nearly saved Bangwe All Stars, who improved significantly in the second round after a dismal first half of the campaign, though they were ultimately relegated on the final day.
Tigers head into Wednesday’s clash with Creck following a disappointing trip to the Northern Region, where they collected just one point. They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mzuzu City Hammers before squandering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Moyale Barracks.
