The Lions of FortHills suffered their second defeat on Sunday afternoon at Karonga Stadium as they succumbed to a 3-0 loss to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
Speaking after the game, Kafoteka said it will take time for the team to play as a unit but he is confident that they will find the formula.
“It will take time for the players to play as a unit because we are building a new team, it happens,” he tells the Media. ” The way the players played in the first half gives us some hope that we will have a good team.
“Unfortunately, we have lost, but it doesn’t mean that we fear them [Big Bullets], the boys gave everything.”
Chitipa United started the game slightly better than the visitors as conceded by Kalisto Pasuwa during the post-match interviews but Babatunde Adepoju’s 23rd-minute strike drained their energy.
Ephraim Kondowe came off the bench in the second half to score the second goal before setting up Patrick Mwangulu for the third to complete the routing.
“A painful loss for us because we prepared to win the game,” added Kafoteka. “We controlled the game in the first half, at least a point would be enough but my boys didn’t play the way we trained them.
“We have lost, it’s part of the game, we will go back to the drawing board.”
Chitipa United lost 2-0 to Silver Strikers in their opening game before hammering Karonga United 4-1 in their week-2 game. This weekend, they are traveling to face FOMO FC in Mulanje.
