Kaduya ruled out of WCQ, Cosafa Cup due to injury

Silver Strikers’ promising talent, Adiel Kaduya will not be available for Malawi during the forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers and Cosafa Cup after picking up an injury.

Kaduya was among the players who were called for camping by Flames Coach, Patrick Mabedi ahead of the games against Sao Tome De Prince and Equatorial Guinea but the player was hit by an injury setback that he sustained against Karonga United on Saturday.

According to the statement released by the Club on Wednesday, the player is expected to be unavailable for two weeks including missing the crucial trip to Blantyre to face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the TNM Super League.

A statement reads, “Adiel Kaduya is the latest to join the injury list as he was a recipient of a knock in our last game against Karonga United.

“The first-half knock forced him to be pulled out and is awaiting a conclusive medical examination on Thursday.”

A breakthrough season for the youngster who is leading the team’s scoring chart after scoring four goals, Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba describes the injury as a setback for the player and the Club.

“Duncan Nyoni is yet to join the rest of the lads in training as he is still nursing a knee injury he picked up before the start of the season. Nyoni has not featured for the Central Bankers this far and is currently on light training.

“Enterprising attacker Gift Chunga is slowly recovering after missing in action since late April when the Bankers played in Dedza. Fellow attacking option Atusaye Nyondo is still out after picking an injury in training. He last featured in a 2-0 win against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at home,” adds the statement.

Meanwhile, the Bankers have been boosted by the return of their striker, Binwel Katinji who has returned to the field with the rest of the team after missing two matches at home. Katinji was unavailable against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Karonga United.
