Jenda United Team Manager resigns amidst club turmoil

More trouble continues to mount for NBS Bank National Division League struggling side, Jenda United, as their team manager, Chisomo Chinomba, has announced his resignation.

This departure comes just two weeks after the club fired head coach Obvious Banda due to a string of poor results. Banda’s dismissal followed four consecutive league losses. Despite being replaced by Uchizi Nkunika, the team’s fortunes haven’t improved, as they’ve since lost two more matches.

Chinomba confirmed his exit, stating his decision was not directly related to the team’s performance but rather a matter of his “legacy” and feeling “cheated in many things at the team.”

“There were also things that I felt that as a team manager, I was not given. As a team manager, I was a bridge between the players and the management, and I was to request for some things such as boots and even check the readiness of the team in the League.

“But I wasn’t privy to many things at the team, so I felt like stepping down to respect the team and maintain my reputation. When the team is failing, people would say I’m the team manager.”

Chinomba believes the team could improve in the second half of the season if they beef up their squad, as their current roster lacks experience. “In most teams, we see maybe over two players who have ever played for the Super League, but at Jenda, I think they have only one,” he added. “With the current players, they will struggle because the League is hotter than the SIMSO League.”

Jenda United has yet to comment on Chinomba’s resignation or announce his successor. The club currently anchors the 12-team log table of the second-tier league, having lost all six of their matches. They remain pointless, with a dismal goal difference of two goals scored against fourteen conceded.
