Kamuzu Barracks and Mighty WakaWaka Tigers played out a goalless draw in a closely contested TNM Super League encounter at Champions Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Despite both sides showing attacking intent, neither could find a breakthrough in a match that saw chances come and go without conversion.
The hosts started brightly, with Francis Mchema firing just wide in the opening minute. Kamuzu Barracks continued to press, creating several opportunities through Samson Chiponda, Olson Kanjira, and Shulten Mhango, but all efforts failed to trouble the scoreboard.

Kanjira thought he had opened the scoring midway through the first half with a header from Mchema’s cross, only for the assistant referee to flag for offside.
Tigers gradually settled into the game, winning a few corners and probing through Precious Chiudza and Philip Chavula, though they struggled to break down a disciplined KB backline.
Alex Kambilinya picked up the game’s first yellow card for a rough challenge, while KB coach Nicolas Mhango also received a caution following a disagreement with the match officials.
The second half saw both teams introduce fresh legs in search of a winner. Tigers made early substitutions, bringing on Alex Chaundwa and Shukurani Affick, followed by John Kamwendo and Precious Kwalenga, while KB’s only change came late as Stain Chirwa replaced Mhango in the 88th minute.
Kamuzu Barracks goalkeeper Charles Chisale proved crucial, making key saves during a late surge by the visitors, including a trio of close-range attempts in the 77th minute.
Tigers came closest in stoppage time, but a clear chance inside the box was wasted as the ball sailed wide.In the end, both sides were left to settle for a point.
Kamuzu Barracks’ midfielder Samuel Chibvunde was named Man of the Match for his tireless effort and composure in midfield throughout the game.
