Adiel Kaduya claimed his third man of the match award in four games after driving Silver Strikers to a 5-1 comeback win over MAFCO FC in a match played at the Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday afternoon to return to the top of the TNM Super League log table.
Marshall Maluwa stunned the Bankers early in the match but Binwell Katinji levelled from the spot before assisting Adiel Kaduya’s double in the first 10 minutes of the second half then Tatenda M’balaka and Patrick completed the massacre with a goal each to seal a blistering performance at home.

Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said he was happy with the win and also the reaction of the players after they conceded as they kept on pressurizing to score.
“I’m very happy with the win, the players have played very well I think in the first 10 minutes we were nowhere and kept more spaces but after conceding, the boys reacted well, they kept on going forward then we got the goals and even we could have had more than five.” Said Mponda.
Meanwhile, deputy coach for MAFCO, Jimmy Mzunga, said his team missed their chances despite playing well and said they will rectify these errors when they return home.
“It was a good game but I think we didn’t use our chances in the game so our friends got their chances and scored the goals. The players played well only that we missed many of our chances.” Said Mzunga.
The two teams failed to unlock each other in the opening 10 minutes of the game despite the Bankers keeping the ball but the visitors Stroke first through Marshall Maluwa on 14th minutes with a fine shot in the box. Dan Chimbalangas’ corner kick could have doubled the lead but George Chikooka saved before Binwell Katinji winning a penalty which he converted on 34th minute then Chikooka denied Maluwa in the first half’s stoppage time with a fine save.
Charles Chipala paved a away for Zebron Kalima in a half time change while Gift Soko was replaced by David Daudi for MAFCO then Katinji set Kaduya who dribbled Blessings Kameza before scoring to lead on 49th minute and the pair partnered once more on 55th minute with Kaduya sending a powerful shot to score his second of the day.
Kaduya had his shot saved on 65th minute before another saved shot two minutes later turned into Tatenda M’balaka’s path to score his first goal in his first appearance after returning from injury then MAFCO introduced Steve Mkweza, Mphatso Philimoni and Auspicious Kadzongola for Stain Malata, Maluwa and Aubrey Chafewa on 73rd minute while Idana and Macdonald Lameck paved ways for Patrick Macheso and Innocent Shema.
The Bankers were not done as Patrick Macheso added fifth to mark his first goal of the season as the Bankers move up of the table after failing to retain it last week in their 1-1 draw at Dedza Stadium.
Following the result, the Bankers have 10 points from their first four games after getting three wins and a draw while MAFCO moves down to 14th with only two points from four games as they have two draws and two loses in the League.
