Ekhaya FC head coach Enos Chatama says his squad is fired up and ready to face Wanderers after shaking off recent setbacks.
“It’s one of those high-stakes matches, but the boys are geared up and ready to go toe-to-toe with Wanderers. We’re not under any pressure — all the pressure is on them. If they drop points against us, they risk losing ground to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the title race,” he said.
Chatama added that the team is focused on instilling discipline and sharpening their tactical edge.
The Cowboys will be without captain Innocent Msowoya, who picked up an injury in their previous clash against the Bullets, and forward Emmanuel Saviel, who remains sidelined with a long-term ankle injury.
On the opposite bench, Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira admits it’s a big game, but insists his players are raring to go.
“Everything is on track. We know Ekhaya are in top form in the league — it won’t be easy, but the boys are ready for the challenge,” he said.
Mpinganjira also revealed that his side is taking a game-by-game approach and will treat Ekhaya with respect, especially since they remain unbeaten in their last 10 outings.
Wanderers will be without attacking duo Sama Thierry Tangonj and Clement Nyondo, as well as goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa, all out with injuries.
However, skipper Lawrence Chaziya has rejoined full training and could be in contention, while Chimwemwe Nkhoma and Mphatso Kamanga are easing back with light sessions.
