The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has released match details for the FDH Bank Cup semifinals as the tournament reaches its climax this season.
From an initial field of over 64 teams, only four remain in contention for the prestigious trophy: Blantyre giants Mighty Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, alongside Lilongwe powerhouses Silver Strikers and Civil Service United.

In a notable decision, FAM has announced that both semifinals will be played in the home cities of the competing teams, with the Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium and the Capital City Derby at Bingu National Stadium.
Blantyre Derby: Wanderers Host Bullets at Kamuzu

Contrary to expectations that both semifinals would be staged at Bingu Stadium, FAM has opted to host the highly anticipated Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium on November 1, 2025.
This marks a departure from last season’s format, when both semifinals were held in Lilongwe—Blue Eagles defeated Karonga United at Civo Stadium, while FCB Nyasa Big Bullets overcame Moyale Barracks at Bingu Stadium.
The Wanderers-Bullets cup semifinal comes just five days after the two rivals meet in a league fixture on October 26, setting up an intense doubleheader that could define both teams’ seasons.
The sides last met in cup competition at Kamuzu Stadium during last season’s round of 16, where Bullets secured a 2-1 victory over their cross-town rivals.
Bullets reached the semifinals by eliminating Chilumba Barracks, The Boyz, and Kamuzu Barracks. Wanderers advanced through victories over Mafco FC, Mzuzu City Hammers, and Creck Sporting Club.
Both heavyweights enter the doubleheader in excellent form as they battle for league supremacy. However, their cup ambitions tell contrasting stories.
Wanderers are seeking their first-ever FDH Bank Cup final appearance after four previous semifinal heartbreaks. The Nomads lost to Silver Strikers 3-0 in 2021, suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat to Bullets in 2022, and fell 1-0 to Mafco FC in 2023. Breaking their semifinal curse against their fiercest rivals would be particularly sweet.
Bullets, meanwhile, are chasing an unprecedented fourth consecutive cup title. They have won the tournament twice and reached three finals. After losing to Silver Strikers on penalties in the 2021 quarterfinals, they claimed back-to-back titles in 2022 (defeating Big Bullets Reserve) and 2023 (beating Mafco FC), before falling to Blue Eagles in last year’s final.
Capital City Derby: Silver Strikers Face Civil Service United

Silver Strikers will square off against Civil Service United at Bingu National Stadium on November 2, 2025, in the second semifinal.
The match comes on the heels of Silver’s CAF club competition commitment, as they face Yanga Sporting Club in a return leg just before the semifinal.
The two teams met recently in the Airtel Top 8 Cup semifinal at the same venue, where the Bankers emerged victorious 2-1, giving them a psychological edge heading into this clash.
Silver Strikers are pursuing their second FDH Bank Cup final appearance. They won the inaugural tournament in 2021 with a victory over Mzuzu City Hammers but have struggled in recent years, suffering early exits to Moyale Barracks and Blue Eagles.
The Bankers reached the semifinals by defeating Blue Eagles 3-0, Shire FC 4-1, and Mighty Tigers 1-0.
Civil Service United are chasing their first FDH Bank Cup final and their first cup final appearance of any kind since 2015, when they defeated Wanderers to claim the Standard Bank Cup.
Civil advanced through victories over Red Lions, Chitipa United, and Mchinji Villa.
FDH Bank Cup Semifinals Schedule:
- November 1, 2025: Mighty Wanderers vs FCB Nyasa Big Bullets – Kamuzu Stadium, Blantyre
- November 2, 2025: Silver Strikers vs Civil Service United – Bingu National Stadium, Lilongwe
