After a barren draw in their opening game against Mangochi All Stars last weekend away from home, the team ran rampant over Tigers Reserve at Mpira Stadium on Wednesday as they chalked their first win of the season with Chifundo Ngochera, Gift Lamowa, Francis Malikebu, and Wongan Kaponya being on target for the people’s team.
Speaking after the game, Chatama said the team missed a lot of chances and they should have scored 10 or 15 goals.
“Not really pleased with today’s performance. We controlled the game from the first whistle to the last one, we created so many chances.
“Not good for the team because we could have scored 10 or 15 goals. We scored 4 which is not good for the team and we have to go back to the drawing board and iron out the problem.

“It is very important today that we have won the game but still, not good enough for us as you have seen that in all the games that we have played in the past up to date, we are creating so many chances but failing to score.
“You can see from the chances that we created, that there is no way you can create more than 20 chances and score just four goals, we have to iron out these problems.
“I think I will address the problem, I will sit down with the boys and we will work during training. There are certain things that you don’t need a coach to tell you what to do, they can do on their own. It was very simple, just to tap home the ball but I like the confidence of my players,” he said.
Chatama said he believes that his boys will learn from these mistakes going forward as some of the players in his team are new.
He added that the team is not looking much at the title championship but rather looking for a game as it comes and they look forward to the future of the team.
The Southern Region Football League kicked off last weekend with teams battling for the championship. Ntopwa FC who finished second last season after suffering a defeat to FOMO FC, kicked off their campaign with a 1-all draw against Ekhaya FC while Ntaja United, and Zomba Airbase were some of the teams that bagged wins in their first games.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve who won the league four times consecutively failed to defend it last season after losing to FOMO FC in the semi-finals.
